can I be an au pair to a usa family if iam from south Africa ?

Hi! I hope it's not too late to give you an answer. Yes you can be an au pair in America if you're from South Africa. I was an au pair there and my host mom brother had 2 au pair from south africa. But for being an au pair in the USA you need an au pair agency, you can't go by yourself, it would be illegal.

Aurélie is making a very good point by emphasizing the importance of using an agency when you want to be an au pair in the USA. We recommend using one of the state designated sponsors as  someone has already checked these agencies really exist.
